No, not really. I’m living the life in France.
So this morning I woke up around 10 a.m. local time, took an hour long shower, then went down to have breakfast (brunch) with Nancy and co. FRESH French croissants with 6 different assorted jams for breakfast and delicious coffee…and I don’t even drink coffee! Yum yum.
After my leisurely morning, Nancy and I took a long walk along the sunny pasture. We saw some sheep and rams, heard a donkey (that sounded like it was having sex) in the distance, and she got pricked by some bastard stinging nettle plant. The air is so fresh and cool and clear here, it’s unbelievable. Clear skin, clean lungs, beautiful everything.
We walked back home to find her parents in the jacuzzi spa relaxing. We instantly went upstairs to change into our bikinis and joined them, with a glass (or two) of vino to boot. There is nothing like kicking back in a spa, outside, in France, with some classy Chardonnay, without a care in the world.
Nance and I went into town several times to get eggs (hoeffs or however you spell it) and take several shots of Grand Marnier at the numerous bars. This is such a fucking cute town, I love it so much! I love speaking French and having people NOT think I’m American.
This is the life.
So Nancy and I are pretty buzzed right now from all the wine this afternoon and the several shots of liquor this evening. We are due to have a lovely dinner in an hour or so…fabulous.
This is absolutely amazing. This morning I was thinking, “Am I really laying in this gorgeous bedroom with the sun streaming in? Am I really drinking vino at 1 in the afternoon in a jacuzzi spa outside? Am I seriously taking a walk down a long pasture where sheep roam free and nature is so gorgeous? Am I really eating fresh French croissants for breakfast?”
Oh, the lap of luxury. I told Nancy we’re buying our tickets for next year as soon as we get home.
I miss you all! But I’m having the time of my LIFE. And tomorrow we’re having the Thanksgiving dinner with 15-20 of her parents’ friends. I am enjoying myself probably too much.
Time for gourmet French dinner! And the British Dancing With the Stars!
