An incredible transformation.

This isn’t what you think it’s going to be about.

As many of you may know, I recently moved. I have a Jetta, which is not exactly a vehicle conducive to moving your life, so it took me a while to get all my stuff over here. Naturally, without all my furniture, all my belongings lived on the floor. It got to the point where I was SERIOUSLY living in squalor and it was just a biohazardous area that should have been roped off with police tape. Finally, one day I decided that I was just going to do it all at once. It was very hard for me, but I documented the process.

Before:

Yeah that’s just nasty. I admit, I piled many of my shoes and threw more clothes in the middle of the floor for added messy photographic effect, but for the most part, that is how it really looked.

And this is me thinking, “Yeah, wow. What the hell am I gonna do with all this crap?”

I started to compartmentalize, making a clean clothes pile, a dirty clothes pile, and a pile for important papers and mail that I will never open (bills) on my futon.

I have a lot of clothes, and what you see here is not even a quarter of it all.

When I showed these pictures to Aydin later that night, he said, “Oh what the hell. You’re not cleaning your room, you just put everything on the bed!” Oh, honey. It’s a process.

Moved the honkin’ dresser in.

Voila! I should have fluffed that square pillow though.

It looks good, but I’m still adding more furniture. And I am clearly not an anal-retentive, overly organized, everything-in-it’s-place type of person, so who knows how long this will last? I just think I can find things better when I throw them around. Ha! The next step is obviously adorning the bland white walls with art and photos and more black and red stuff.

After I cleaned my room, I went in the bathroom and chopped my hair with scissors…

then went out with my boy Aydin and my girl Angelique.

Camera time!

My personal favorite:

Fun.
