It's interesting to analyze the character development over the years and see how the writers/producers use the same tactics season after season (such as nobody believing Jack, ever), but with fresh presentation. Absolutely. And David Palmer will be the best President in the history of the universe as well. But Season 7 marks a new era for the country. Jack works for nobody; he's a rogue, by-any-means-necessary operator/bad ass. President Taylor sucks, yes, and I can't stand her, but the added dimension of a moody, female commander-in-chief gives us a different perspective on the Oval Office. TONY is alive and there are several twists in his MO and motivation. The flippin' White House goes under siege. Bill Buchanan dies in a martyred blaze of glory. There are layers and layers of involvement..starting with Dubaku, going up to Gen. Juma, and even higher up to the crazy white Starkwood guys with money at the top of it all. There's sexual tension between Renee and Agent Moss and Renee and Jack, adding to the intense drama (without any dumb tangential romance lines thus far). Jack's life is "endangered." Plus, I believe Kim makes her return today as well!
