TotallyKitschn’s Vintage Etsy Shop Catalogue Photoshoot

Sara Herff is one of my fiercest BFF stylists. She works in fashion merchandising and collects the cutest original vintage pieces. For her impressive collection of dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and other accessories, she started a shop on Etsy.

This is part I of probably many more photoshoots for TotallyKitschn. We shot in mid-September on location in the west suburbs of Chicago.

All clothing items are apparel from her store, and I did my hair and makeup and brought a few of my signature hair flowers to to complement some of hers!

mizChartreuse meets Redwall Photography

My favorite fierce female photographer, Tasha Schalk, is the owner of Redwall Photography. Her business specializes in wedding, portrait, engagement, and senior pictures, as well as promotional and live music photos, which is how we initially met.

After years of knowing each other and me admiring her work, we finally joined forces for a fun, early summer photoshoot in the industrial West Town area of Chicago. The premise was to contrast an edgy, industrial, rough-around-the-edges urban location with a bright, colorful, flowery model (me).

Tasha’s work is so amazing– she does things with lighting, angles, and perspectives that I find to be rare and unique in terms of photography. It was fun! Near the end of the session, I climbed into a window that was eight feet in the air, hoisted by Tasha and her husband/assistant, Aaron. Thank goodness for Spanx!

I styled myself– hair, makeup, and wardrobe. The purple dress is from Ragstock on Milwaukee Avenue, and the red paisley is a thrift store dig!

A Fatal Attraction to Cuteness

A Fatal Attraction to Cuteness

This shoot took place in photographer Matthew Hollis’ studio, based in a huge industrial building near Halsted and Cermak in the Pilsen East Art District.

Fashion designer and stylist Sarah Church did all the hair, makeup, and wardrobe stylings — all original pieces and accessories styled with the vintage influences of the decades ranging from the 50s through the 90s.

This shoot features everything from the funky 80s with the loud patterns, to the 70s with the earth tones, the 90s with the bright colors and shoulder pads…and more.
